Tooth Fillings

Tooth fillings are a restorative treatment where the affected area is removed, and new fillings are added to restore the tooth. We use porcelain inlays and tooth-colored fillings to make the tooth stronger and look better. They are also better for the gums.

Our dental care professionals are against using mercury and silver fillings as they are neither appealing nor good for the tooth’s overall structure.

Procedure

During the first session, our staff will examine your teeth and remove the old filling or area that needs restoration, after which an impression of the affected area will be taken and sent to the lab.

Until your next session, a temporary overlay will be placed over the area under treatment.

In the next session, the temporary fix will be taken off, and the tooth will be primed with a conditioning gel to prepare it for the new filling. We use bonding cement on the tooth and seal it in with intense light to fix the restoration in place. After that, the tooth will be made smooth.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a terrific option to restore the appearance and functionality of a natural smile, and with regular maintenance, they can endure for many years. They are also a great permanent restorative option for those who may have lost their teeth.

Implants are made of titanium, and the root of the titanium tooth is surgically inserted into the jawbone.

What to Expect

When you come to our clinic in Mesquite, Texas, our dental experts will determine whether or not getting a tooth implant is the best option for you.

If our dentists feel there is a need for an implant and that it will provide the best results, we will move forward to a dental examination and learn your medical history.

During your first session, the dental implants will be surgically inserted into your jaw, followed by a three-six month-long period where the implant will be allowed to fuse and bond with your jaw. During this time, temporary dentures will be made available to you.

It is important to be mindful of your oral hygiene habits and to ensure the intake of soft foods not to put any pressure on the implant while it is healing.

In the second session, the artificial tooth — made during the time your jaw healed — will be attached to the titanium root to replace your missing tooth.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are porcelain teeth held in place by the teeth next to them. They come in the form of permanent fixtures. These bridges are put in place by using crowns on the adjacent teeth or by bonding the bridge with the adjacent tooth.

Bridges are helpful in restoring the functionality and appearance of the teeth.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are an extremely reliable restorative treatment. They are caps that go over the tooth to give it a new look. Dental crowns are made of porcelain and restore the tooth’s appearance. They can also replace missing teeth.

Procedure

To maintain the best quality, placement, and fixture of the crowns, our dentists at Ancestral Dental believe in taking two sessions for the fixture of the crown, which is why we do not offer same-day crowns.

During the first session, our experienced dentists remove and reshape the affected area of the tooth. They take an impression of the tooth and place a temporary crown on the tooth.

In the second session, the temporary crown is replaced with the final porcelain crown bonded to the tooth’s structure.

If you want the most realistic-looking crowns to replace your missing or affected teeth, book a session with our experienced dentists at our clinic in Mesquite, Texas.

Benefits of Dental Crowns

Crowns can be used to enhance a tooth’s look, form, size, and strength. They can be used to conceal a tooth that is discolored or disfigured and safeguard a fragile tooth from further damage.

Dentures

Dentures are a form of dental prosthesis used to replace lost teeth. They are composed of acrylic resin, occasionally in conjunction with other metals.

Benefits of Dentures

Dentures assist with the alignment of the jaw and help with the mouth’s functionality. They are not just limited to helping with chewing or providing a better appearance. They improve speech as well.

Over time, dentures may need to be replaced to maintain the structure of the jaw. We offer different types of dentures at our clinic in Mesquite, Texas:
